Heat the person, not the home – with style!
There’s no escaping it; most of us will be mindful of the energy price hikes and trying to think of ways to cut back on our heating. One of those ways is to wrap up well – even when sitting at home. Now I’m not going to advise you to buy a fluffy onesie, Oodie, Slanket, or whatever else they come up with – this is a style blog, after all! These have their place, but I’m talking about when you’re maybe working from home and want to still look and feel put together or perhaps having a friend over for coffee – you get the idea. So, I’ve compiled a round-up of some of my favourite Winter 22 Knitwear.
Winter 22 Knitwear
How to cosy up and still look stylish…
Smart Knitwear
Winter 22 knitwear offers a fantastic range of gorgeous jumpers and cardigans, so you’re spoilt for choice.
One of my top tips is to size up in at least one sweater or cardigan to layer it over another finer knit for extra warmth.
I love the bold red of this chunky longline cardigan from Sosandar. And collared knits are another big trend this season; this zip-up merino wool number from Karen Millen is perfect and ticks the colour-blocking trend too!

I’m not going to lie – I love a vest! As in an old-school proper vest you wear under your clothes, not the current trendy tank style (see next tip). The trick with layering for warmth is to start close to the body and fill any gaps, so you don’t get drafts! Look for something fairly fitted, so you can tuck neatly and not add bulk.
Trendy Tanks (or Vests)
Basically, a sleeveless layer you can put over a shirt or jumper. These are great for adding a bit of colour, or go for a classic neutral shade that will work with most of your wardrobe. I love this simple natural knitted tank from sustainable brand Baukjen, and the hot pink number from Mint Velvet ticks the colour block trend too.

Wrist Warmers

These are going on my
Christmas list!
Wrist warmers are ideal for when you still need to be able to work and don’t want to look like something out of a Dickensian novel in fingerless gloves hovering over a single candle! Our lovely local independent boutique Il Lusso in Chichester, has these stylish versions from Italian brand Mamma B.
Scarves
A scarf might not be our first thought when sitting indoors, but it can help keep you warm, especially if you sit still for periods. You may want something a little lighter-weight at home, so a jersey scarf is ideal. These jersey infinity scarves (one continuous loop) from the colourful brand, Kettlewell, are great and come in many different prints and colours.
