This post is one for the boys… Read on to discover tips to help you choose the best men’s undies.
Okay, hands up, fellas… How much thought do you put into your pants? Your underwear is there to act as a protective barrier from your outer clothes, soak up sweat (sorry!) and provide support. As with a bra for the ladies, they are the foundation for your outfit.
What to look for when searching for the best men’s undies.
Here’s a short list of crucial things to look out for when choosing your undies:
Fabric:
Choosing breathable designs is probably top of the priority list – especially in summer. Pure cotton is an obvious choice; those with a little bit of stretch (elastane or lycra) hold their shape. Other options are modal (or Lenzig or Micromodal), made from the beech tree; it’s a fabric with a super comfy feel.
Fit:
Avoid waistbands that dig in (maybe go up a size or try a style with a longer rise). Also, avoid legs that roll up as you move about – a longer leg length and a more fitted style can help solve this issue. Finally, consider the amount of support for the obvious areas!
Colour:
Apart from personality choices here, the colour can be important, depending on what you’re wearing on top. Black briefs worn under lightweight white linen are never a good look!
Support your crown jewels and support local at the same time! It’s a #winwin situation!

If you want to treat yourself and support local, I recommend checking out Randies, a Wittering’s-based business that puts a lot of thought into its designs and is on a mission to make the ‘best men’s underwear in the world’! Rosie, their Marketing Manager, told me, “Comfort and support are at the forefront of the designs”.
Their undies feature a non-roll down waistband and a horizontal fly for ease of access, which may seem controversial, but they promise that you won’t ever go back once you’ve tried it! They also come in two lengths, a longer boxer brief and a shorter Trunk style.
I hope this post has given you some insight into how to select the best men’s undies. I work with men and women, helping them dress with confidence, I’d love to help you, so please get in touch!
